Challenge

The Netherlands-based organisation, dedicated to preserving Jewish cultural heritage, struggled with ageing on-premises infrastructure that lacked scalability and resilience, and was increasingly exposed to operational risk.
Fragmented hosting and support from multiple vendors led to inconsistent management and security, while decentralised systems and limited threat protection heightened cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The absence of formal business continuity planning, structured IT governance, and adequate end-user support further jeopardised service availability, data protection, and regulatory compliance.

Solution

Sphinx Worldbiz Ltd implemented a comprehensive, security-first Managed IT Services framework to address these issues. Central to the solution was the migration to Microsoft Azure, using Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery to modernise and consolidate infrastructure within a secure, unified cloud environment.
Advanced cybersecurity measures were deployed, including Azure Security Centre, Microsoft Defender, Web Application Firewall, and granular access controls via Azure Active Directory. Business continuity was ensured through robust disaster recovery planning, automated Azure Backup and Veeam backups, and multi-geo redundancy.
ITIL-based service management, utilising Freshdesk for incident and change management, streamlined governance, while end-user support and device management were enhanced through Microsoft Quick Assist and AnyDesk.

Achievements

The transformation delivered a resilient, multi-layered cybersecurity architecture that proactively protects sensitive data and ensures compliance with GDPR and Dutch regulations. The modern Azure-based infrastructure provides exceptional reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency, while automated backup routines and tested disaster recovery protocols guarantee business continuity.
Centralised IT governance and responsive support have improved transparency, reduced downtime, and enhanced user satisfaction. By leveraging technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Security Centre, Veeam, Freshdesk, and ITIL best practices, the organisation can now focus on its core mission, confident that its IT operations are secure, efficient, and future-ready.
